In keeping with this week's Metallica & Metal theme (watch out for this week's newsletter) we were delighted to learn that last night, that Sonisphere Festival won 'Best Newcomer' at the Festival Awards last night!
Sonisphere enjoyed their first year with Festival's throughout Europe this past summer ending with Knebworth, England on the 1st and 2nd of August!
Headlining the event were Linkin Park and Metallica, and over the 4 stages over the 2 day festival the line up included Alice in Chains, Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, Coheed and Cambria, Corey Taylor, Heaven & Hell, Lamb of God, Machine Head, Saxon, The Used and many more spanning bands old and new.
Sonisphere have announced they will be back for 2010 and the UK dates have been released as 31st July - 1st August 2010, they have been teasing about the line up over on their Twitter recently though!
So, congratulations to Team Sonisphere... I had a great time at Sonisphere 2009 and I can't wait for next year!

I dont know too much about guitars - but this has both an acoustic pickup and a lipstick pick up. Seems to be a real all rounder - really happy so far. Thanks to John at the Old Hat.....

Hi, i am interested in starting or joning a band, i have been playing bass for a year or so and know the basics and a bit more, i keep being told that to bring my playing forward i need to play with others, which is my objective anyway. I am influenced by: Zep, AC/DC, Black crows, etc. and the blues, so this would be type of band i would be interested in, or just jamming until i can find a bass position in a band. look forward to replies and playing with others.
