Nick is a remarkably accomplished guitarist whose range encompasses the full spectrum from flamenco and classical to jazz and rock and is not only a dazzling soloist but also an intuitive and creative rhythm player, whether on acoustic, electric or MIDI instruments.
Nick grew up in Scotland, where he established a formidable reputation as a virtuoso guitarist, composer, teacher, session guitarist and live performer, but moved to London in 1997 to further develop his career, working on a wide range of solo and collaborative projects and for various musical companies in the pits, as an entire orchestra!
Electric Jazz pioneers Curfew recruited “The Flying Scotsman” with whom he has co-written, performed and produced two albums “Return of the Jazz Fusioneers” and "Hold the Front Page". Nick also produced and orchestrated the album ‘White Clouds’ for Prog rockers, Vienna Circle in 2008.
In 2005 Nick wrote, performed, produced and independently released his first solo CD called “Solo?”. On this album Nick played all the instruments himself. All on guitar!
Also, Nick performs master-classes for a number of specialist music colleges in the UK and is a regular performer at the London Guitar show and Music Live.
In addition to performing, Nick writes two columns Jazz/Fusion style guitar and Midi guitar for Europe’s top online guitar magazine, alloutguitar.com.
